I received a letter from Ratchford Law Group Dated XX/XX/year> even though I didn't not receive the letter until late XXXX. The letter was in reference to collect a debt from XXXX XXXX in the amount of XXXX. In the letter it says if I write before XX/XX/year> and requested more information about the debt they would have to seize collection efforts until I received that information. I sent a certified letter and it shows they received it on XX/XX/year> a day before the deadline they set. Instead of receiving the information I requested I was issued a summons for small claims court. I believe I was deceived and lied to as they are suing me in small claims when they are required by law to send me the information I requested.
