I am writing to formally dispute recent charges applied to my credit card accounts related to a furniture purchase made in XXXX at XXXX XXXX. At the time of purchase, the seller clearly informed me that I had two ( 2 ) years interest-free to pay off the balance and that scheduled payments would be set up to complete the debt within that period. Based on this information, I agreed to the purchase. I relied on the sellers representation in good faith. I have not used these credit cards again since the original purchase. However, upon recently reviewing my account, I was surprised to find charges totaling approximately {$1300.00} on each of two cards, and one card now shows a negative credit balance. When I contacted the credit card company, I was informed that I only had 18 months to pay the balance, and because of this, more than {$1000.00} in interest and fees was added to each account. This directly contradicts the information provided by the seller at the time of purchase. The seller provided incorrect and misleading information, which resulted in unexpected and significant financial harm. Had I been properly informed of an 18-month term, I would not have agreed to the purchase under those conditions. I respectfully request the following : A full review of this account for billing errors and misrepresentation. Removal or adjustment of the interest and penalty charges applied due to incorrect terms. A temporary hold on further interest or negative reporting while this dispute is under investigation.
