Consumer Narrative

I have been a XXXX and a credit card holder for over 35 years. I am also a member in good standing with the XXXX XXXX XXXX. For many years I had their XXXX visa credit card in good standing. I never missed a payment and was never late. Out of the blue, on XX/XX/year>, I get a letter that I have to change over to " XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX. '' I did not ask for the change. I was commanded to look an " XXXX XXXX '' by XX/XX/year> ; and that as of that date, My XXXX visa would no longer be active. I got the credit card and began the process of activating it. It forced me to sign that I would agree to online statements ; that I would give over my private bank account number -- routing number and account number as a pre-requisite for activating the card. I had {$700.00} from the visa that I needed to pay for. HOWEVER, they would not let me pay because they said " they had not linked my bank account to their business : XXXX XXXX ; XXXX XXXX XXXX ; XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXXXXXX. I looked up on AI and it said that was a very risky thing to do. One should be careful about sharing the bank routing number and account number. I am a senior citizen on a fixed income. I do not have the ability to have digital statements. I need paper statements. I called repeatedly expressing my concerns from XX/XX/year> through XX/XX/year>. I called and asked if they could activate my account so I could pay off the account and was denied that privilege. I called the XXXX XXXX XXXX and asked them to look into it. I was told many dentists were complaining. I am a senior citizen. All the money to my name is in that account. I do not think it is lawful to ask me for that secure information. I feel very vulnerable with someone I have never done business with having that information. I asked the XXXX XXXX XXXX how they would feel if that happened to them. They said they would not give out their bank information either. Finally I need paper statements because I do not have access to digital things that allow me to print statements. These are unlawful practices and I would appreciate you looking into it. XXXX is the number of the XXXX. XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX
