I am submitting this complaint regarding an unauthorized debit card transaction that JPMorgan Chase Bank , N.A . has refused to refund. On XX/XX/year>, a {$120.00} point-of-sale debit transaction occurred at a XXXX located in XXXX, California. I did not authorize this transaction. At the time of the charge, I was physically working in another city ( XXXX XXXX XXXX ), which makes authorization impossible. Immediately upon receiving a fraud alert from Chase, I responded NO, confirming that I was not using my card. Chase subsequently closed my card and issued a replacement, acknowledging suspected fraud. Despite this, on XXXX XXXX Chase denied my claim, stating that the card was present and a PIN was used. I did not authorize this transaction, did not provide my card or PIN to anyone, and did not knowingly disclose my PIN. PIN usage alone does not constitute proof of authorization under Regulation E. I submitted employment and payroll records showing that I was working at the time of the transaction. Chase rejected this evidence without explanation, stating only that it was not valid. Chase has not provided documentation showing how it determined that I authorized this transaction or negligently disclosed my PIN. A police report was filed documenting this unauthorized transaction.
