I am filing this complaint because Portfolio Recovery Associates ( PRA ) is reporting inaccurate information on my credit report in violation of the Fair Credit Reporting Act ( FCRA ), specifically 602, 607, and 611. This account was settled through a court-negotiated agreement and I have fully paid the settlement. However, PRA is still reporting the collection with multiple inaccuracies : XXXX. The account is improperly listed as Open, even though it has a {$0.00} balance and is fully settled. A settled or paid collection must be reported as Closed. XXXX. The remarks contain contradictory information : Paid collection Settled less than full balance Dispute resolved subscriber disagrees This is inconsistent and misleading, which constitutes inaccurate reporting under the FCRA. XXXX. I provided evidence of the settlement, but PRA continues to report the tradeline inaccurately. XXXX. Because the reporting is not accurate, complete, or consistent, it must be corrected or deleted entirely per FCRA 607 ( b ). I am requesting the CFPB to require : Portfolio Recovery to correct the tradeline to show Closed / Paid or Delete the tradeline entirely due to inaccurate and contradictory reporting. XXXX, XXXX and XXXX are also failing to maintain maximum possible accuracy under the FCRA by allowing an open status on a paid account. I am providing screenshots of the inaccurate reporting. I am requesting immediate correction or deletion. Thank you.
