On XX/XX/year> I was approached by what appeared to be a charity asking for donations, I agreed to make a donation of {$20.00} and I tapped my physical Bank of America credit card on their card reader. They sent me a text message with a link to a receipt indicating that I donated {$20.00}. A few hours later the same night, after checking my bank account I realized that they had instead charged my card for {$5000.00}, and the payment was made to a company not at all related to what the charity claimed to be for, and after researching, does not seem to be a real company that exists ( company name XXXX XXXX ). I interpret this to be fraud. Immediately after realizing ( around 2 hours after it happened ) I called Bank of America to report fraud, and they instead told me to wait until the payment posted and attempt to dispute the charge instead. After the payment had posted, at least day later, I described the situation and disputed the charge of {$5000.00} stating I only intended to pay {$20.00} and providing the same receipt I was provided. They denied this claim about and I asked them to reopen the claim for the disputed charge three times over the course of three months.
