Consumer Narrative

What happened : I was a U.S. Bank customer and experienced fraud after my phone was stolen. My U.S. Bank debit card was linked to XXXX XXXX, and unauthorized transactions were made through XXXX XXXX. I immediately reported the fraud to U.S. Bank, and they issued me a {$1000.00} provisional credit during their investigation. After completing the review, they concluded that I was responsible for the transaction and reversed the {$1000.00}. However, I was never notified in advance of this reversal or that my account would be closed. As a result, my checking account went negative, and overdraft protection automatically triggered, creating a {$810.00} overdraft balance. I was unaware of this until after my account had already been closed. Later, U.S. Bank sent me XXXX checks ( {$360.00} and {$32.00} ) from the closed accounts, which indicates that positive funds remained after their internal adjustments. I do not understand how an overdraft balance of {$810.00} could exist if the account still had funds left. I am disputing responsibility for the overdraft and the closure, as this situation was caused by XXXX Banks internal reversal timing and lack of notice not by any action of mine. Additionally, the original fraud originated through XXXX XXXX, and I have an open claim with XXXX XXXX. I am requesting : 1. A full transaction history showing how the $ {$810.00} overdraft was calculated. 2. Documentation of any notices sent before the reversal and account closure. 3. A review and reversal of the overdraft balance and negative reporting, if any I
