I am submitting this complaint regarding inaccurate, incomplete, and unverifiable information being reported about me by ChexSystems , Inc., a consumer reporting agency. ChexSystems is currently reporting negative information that has prevented me from opening a checking account. I believe this reporting violates the Fair Credit Reporting Act ( FCRA ), which requires consumer reporting agencies to maintain reasonable procedures to assure maximum possible accuracy of the information they report. I have not been provided with adequate documentation demonstrating that : - The reported account is accurate and legally attributable to me - The balance and reason for reporting are correct - Proper notice was provided prior to reporting - A reasonable reinvestigation was conducted as required by law Despite my efforts to resolve this matter, ChexSystems continues to report this information without providing competent evidence verifying its accuracy. Under the FCRA, information that can not be verified must be corrected or deleted. I am requesting that the CFPB investigate this matter and require ChexSystems to : 1. Conduct a full and lawful reinvestigation 2. Provide complete verification of the reported information 3. Remove any information that can not be verified as accurate and compliant with federal law This reporting has caused ongoing financial harm by limiting my access to basic banking services.
