I am writing about my Citi Double Cash credit card. I applied for this card after seeing a XXXX ad stating 0 % Intro APR for 18 Months. On my phone the 0 % Intro APR for 18 Months headline was displayed in large bold text, and the fact that it applied only to balance transfers appeared in much smaller text below. Based on the way this was presented, I reasonably believed the 0 % intro APR applied to purchases as well. Relying on that understanding, I made several large purchases on this card, thinking those purchases would be covered by the 18-month 0 % APR period. If I had known the promotion applied only to balance transfers, I would have used other cards and financing options that offered 0 % purchase APR. I basically would have never applied for this credit card. I found out today that the 0 % APR did not apply to purchases when I saw that I was being charged interest. I called customer service and explained the situation, but I was told that the system would not allow any courtesy adjustment. I would appreciate your help in resolving this fairly and in reviewing how this promotion is displayed so other customers are not similarly confused.
