Consumer Narrative

CFPB COMPLAINT STATEMENT IDENTITY THEFT & CHASE BANK MISCONDUCT I am a confirmed identity-theft victim, supported by official documentation from the XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX Data Breach Settlement , which shows that my full personal information ( SSN, DOB, address, phone, email, etc. ) was stolen. Despite this proof, Chase refused to refund multiple unauthorized transactions on both my personal and business accounts. Chase never provided any evidence to justify their denial of my fraud claims. They did not provide required documentation, including : IP address logs Device IDs Call recordings Authorization records ACH XXXX XXXX authentication logs Login timestamps Denying my claims without providing evidence violates multiple federal laws, including Regulation E, FCRA 611, FACTA, and OCC banking requirements. Chase also furnished fraudulent negative information to the credit bureaus ( late payments, chargeoffs, derogatory marks, closedaccount notations ). All of this reporting resulted from identity theft, making their reporting a direct violation of FCRA 605B, 602A, and 623 ( a ) ( 6 ). In addition, Chase restricted or closed accounts, reduced credit lines, and caused significant financial harm to both my personal finances and my business. These actions clearly violate CFPB UDAAP standards ( Unfair, Deceptive, and Abusive Acts and Practices ).
