Citibank retirement services is holding an old 401k retirement account. I contacted Citi Bank on XX/XX/XXXX, was emailed an account application form and withdraw request from. I faxed the completed documents to Citi Bank on XX/XX/XXXX. A week later I called and was told I needed to fax again so I sent a 2nd fax. I then waited until today XX/XX/XXXX. When I called Citibank I'm told it had still not been processed and I'm told to wait another 14 business days. When I asked why it would take so long, I was informed that their back office is backed up and delayed. I then explained I'm in a hardship financially and need this processes right away. I was told they could put a note on my account but I would still need to wait another 14 days. I asked to speak to a supervisor, the agent put me on hold for about 25 min the disconnected the line. I called back and got a 2nd agent and was told the same timeframe, again I asked for a supervisor and was told the only supervisor on duty would not be able to talk to me due to their system not working. I asked to wait for the supervisor to become available and was told I could not wait for a supervisor. The agent said I would need to hang up and call back myself. I explained I needed to speak to someone now and the agent just put me on an extended 30 min hold. After waiting 30 min another now the 3rd agent answered and again was told I could not speak to anyone else that they could not do anything to process my request. I am in a hardship situation and I've already been waiting 3 weeks for Citibank to distribute my 401k and they are refusing to process my request and refusing to let me talk to anyone that can help me with this.
