I applied for and was approved for a Citibank credit card on XX/XX/year>. Immediately after approval, Citibank placed my account in a restricted status and requested additional documents from me. I complied fully and submitted all requested documents within the timeframe they provided. Even though I sent everything they asked for, Citibank kept my account restricted for over XXXX months. During that time, I received no clear explanation, no update, and no additional document requests. Instead of reviewing the documents I submitted and lifting the restriction, Citibank allowed the restriction period to run out. When their internal deadline arrived, they closed my account, even though I had done everything required of me. This unjustified closure has already lowered my credit score, caused the account to be reported as closed, and negatively affected my ability to qualify for future credit.
