Hello, I am writing to ask a question about policy. I have been a loyal Chase customer for 20 years and have never closed a credit card. However in XX/XX/year>, I closed my Chase XXXX XXXX XXXX card via secure message. I was not given a written disclosure or a verbal disclosure about the terms of closure when I received a secure message response saying the card had been closed. Therefore I did not realize that my points would be forfeited upon closing the card. Isn't there a policy that requires me to receive a disclosure BEFORE I close the card? I was told by Chase customer service that this policy does not necessarily apply if you close the card via secure message ( only if you call ). I did verify with Chase that they mailed a disclosure letter to me AFTER I closed the card, but since I did not get a disclosure PRIOR to closing the card, I feel this was misleading.
