I am filing this complaint because Citi closed my account without any prior notice. I only discovered the closure when I could no longer log in, and after calling customer service and visiting a branch, I was told it was due to ACH-related activity. I was never informed beforehand or given any opportunity to respond or clarify anything. I opened the Citi account because of the high interest rate and the opening bonus, and I transferred a large amount of money into the account. These funds are completely legitimate. My family is financially well-established, and my father, a XXXX XXXX of a publicly listed company in XXXX, has supported me financially for many years. Much of my money has been in my personal accounts for a long time and has always been fully under my control. Later, I opened other accounts such as XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX for bonuses or investing, and I moved some of my own funds using ACH because I believed it was a normal transfer method in the U.S. I had no fraudulent intent and was simply unfamiliar with U.S. banking practices. I can fully provide statements from my other bank accounts to prove that all of these funds belong to me and are completely clean. Citis decision to close my account, freeze my funds, and refuse to give me any chance to explain beforehand is extremely unreasonable. I am completely innocent in this situation.
