I am disputing a {$460.00} unauthorized transaction on my Citi credit card ending in XXXX. I want to make it clear that the issue is NOT about the opening of the account. The account may have been opened by me, but the transaction itself was absolutely NOT authorized by me. Here are the facts : I live in XXXX XXXX but the unauthorized transaction was made in XXXX XXXX, XXXX at : XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX, XXXX XXXXXXXX XXXX I have never been to XXXX XXXX and did not make this purchase. My XXXX mailbox was found unlocked, and my building posted warnings that the XXXX master key was stolen. Mail theft is an ongoing issue. I received a Citi fraud alert for this transaction and selected Not Me. I immediately called Citibank to report the unauthorized charge. I did NOT have the physical credit card at the time of the transaction. I asked Citi to provide documentation such as the proof of purchase, payment source, receipt, or evidence used to determine liability, but Citi did not provide any of this information. Citibank closed the investigation incorrectly, stating : Payments were made from an account that belongs to you. This is not true, and Citi did not provide any proof. They closed the case without properly investigating the unauthorized transaction. Under the Fair Credit Billing Act ( FCBA ), I am not liable for charges that I did not authorize. I am requesting that CFPB require Citibank to : 1. Reopen the fraud investigation, 2. Provide documentation supporting their decision, 3. Remove the {$460.00} unauthorized charge, 4. Reverse any related interest or fees, 5. Ensure no negative credit reporting occurs. Thank you for your assistance.
