Consumer Narrative

This is a new complaint because the companys prior response did not address the actual facts or my legal status on the account. I was removed from the Apple Card account months before the other person filed bankruptcy, meaning I had no legal ownership of the account when the bankruptcy occurred. The account later showed a balance of {$74.00}. Both myself and the person who filed bankruptcy attempted to pay the balance multiple times. Goldman Sachs refused to accept any payment, stating they could not take a payment due to the other persons bankruptcy. After refusing to accept payment, Goldman Sachs reported a charge-off under my name, even though : 1. I was not on the account at the time of the bankruptcy. 2. I was not legally responsible for the balance. 3. I attempted to pay the {$74.00} and they refused to accept it. 4. A furnisher can not create a charge-off when the consumer is actively trying to pay. 5. I had a perfect 6-year payment history with no missed payments. Their prior CFPB response ignored these facts completely and used a generic template that did not address the issue of improper reporting on a non-owner who attempted to cure the balance. I am requesting the CFPB require Goldman Sachs to : remove the inaccurate charge-off reporting, OR update the tradeline to show Paid / Closed No Derogatory Information, since the negative reporting resulted from their refusal to accept payment. This inaccurate reporting dropped my credit score by over XXXX points and is causing ongoing harm. Thank you.
