Consumer Narrative
I filed for a Trademark on my comic on XX/XX/2025 with the US Trademark office. Immediately after I was bombarded with companies claiming to be the USPTO and demanding I pay before someone else claims my trademark. I ignored most of these until I was contacted by what I now know is SNAPGROW Limited. They were very convincing because all of my information is public ( which I am also very unhappy about ) on the USPTO website. If one goes onto the website, the status of my trademark shows that it's still being processed. I paid the company and when I looked at my credit card statement it listed the merchant as XXXX XXXX based out of XXXX. I immediately disputed this with the credit card company. The next day they called and harassed me about disputing the charge to the point where I blocked the number they were calling me from. Citi did an investigation and claimed I was responsible for the purchase. I called back and told them it was a fraudulent company pretending to be something they're not. I have charges from the actual USPTO on my card and right next to it, charges from a company based out of XXXX who also contacted me during the government shutdown. I let Citi know all of this and that I have any information they might require to back my claims. They reopened the investigation and recently closed it saying I'm once again responsible. They provided me with " proof '' on which states that XXXX XXXX is a " XXXX XXXX XXXX providing services related to designs, websites, and emcommerce etc '' The fact that it lists itself as a marketing agency and is based out of XXXX is enough proof that this is not the USPTO and that the charge is fraudulent. Livid, I called Citi again and demanded to speak with the investigator or case worker for my dispute but they can only be contacted via email.
