On XX/XX/year>, I called twice. Once because I was having issues logging into my account and the second time because I forgot to ask why deferred interest promotion hasn't decreased since I have made a payments over the minimum amount due since XX/XX/year>. I was told I had to call and request it before making my payments. I mentioned how I have called almost every month and no one has every suggested I request after looking at my account, but are quick to offer additional sales opportunites. I asked if an exception be made since I wasn't aware I actually had to call and I couldn't locate any information in any of the emails which stated I needed to call and personally requested the extra payments be made to my XXXX deferred interest promotional balance. Even after the escalation to a supervisor, I was told that they couldn't do anything about the past but that have activated my account so that future payments above the minimum amount due will be applied to the XXXX different balances. If they could offer on this phone call, why wasn't it offered on others. Even the customer service agent, XXXX, stated I was correct and the extra payments should have been applied. If the customer service agent wasn't aware of this protocol and he works there, how am I supposed to be aware as a consumer? It was made very clear Citibank was more concerned about making money than helping their customer of almost 20 years save interest.
