Im extremely upset with how Citi handled my XXXX XXXX card account. After I made a complaint about a hold on my account, Citi completely closed it the very next dayright after I filed a complaint with the CFPBwhich feels like clear retaliation for speaking up. What makes this even worse is that theyre now telling me Im still liable for a payment, the annual fee, even though the account was on hold and then shut down right after being approved. How does that make any sense? If the account is closed, I shouldnt owe anything, especially after they mishandled the situation. This whole experience has been nothing but frustrating and unfair. Citi has shown terrible customer service, no accountability, and no concern for its customers. I would strongly warn others to stay far away from Citi Bank and their so-called Elite productsthey clearly dont treat their customers with respect or fairness.
