To the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau, I am filing a complaint regarding Bank XXXX XXXX handling of fraudulent charges on my account. My account had XXXX unauthorized ( fraudulent ) charges, which I promptly reported to the bank. It has now been over XXXX business days since I reported the issue, yet the bank has refused to provide a temporary credit or any meaningful update regarding the status of their investigation. When I call customer service, I am repeatedly told that the bank does not provide temporary credits. However, their own statements and federal law ( Regulation E ) require them to issue a provisional or temporary credit if the investigation can not be completed within XXXX business days. Either I am being misinformed by their representatives, or the bank is failing to comply with the law. It has now been almost a month, and I have not received any temporary credit, documentation, or explanation of their findings. I am requesting that Bank of Hawaii follow the law and provide the required provisional credit while their investigation continues. Thank you for your attention to this matter.
