Consumer Narrative
On XX/XX/year> I became a victim of an elder fraud banking scheme at Chase Bank in XXXX, California and lost {$10000.00}. Unlike other Chase Bank customers, I did not receive an email notifying their customers of the latest scams. For example, XXXX customer and friend received an email with this subject header : " * * * Attention, XXXX : You're being notified of the latest scams happening now ''. I have XXXX emails and reviewed all from Chase Bank and I have not gotten any notice such as this about fraudulent bank scams. Perhaps if I had, then I might not have lost {$10000.00}. In my case I received a fraudulent Chase Bank text alerting me to a possible problem and moments later received a phone call from an " FBI '' agent informing me that they have been monitoring Chase Bank accounts and a {$50000.00} XXXX transaction on my account had been attempted. I then followed his lead and followed his instructions to go into a local Chase Bank and withdraw {$10000.00} in large bills to then deposit into a mobile bank account to protect my assets. The Chase Bank tellers and lax security training on a suspicious trigger amount withdrawal by an elderly lady/member of a vulnerable group contributed to this loss.
