I am filing this complaint against Portfolio Recovery Associates ( PRA ) for reporting and attempting to collect an alleged debt that has not been properly validated. Their actions violate my rights under the Fair Credit Reporting Act ( FCRA ) and the Fair Debt Collection Practices Act ( FDCPA ). Violations and Concerns : Fair Credit Reporting Act ( FCRA ), 15 U.S.C. 1681s-2 PRA is furnishing information to consumer reporting agencies that has not been proven accurate. Despite disputes, this account remains on my credit reports, violating the FCRAs requirement for maximum possible accuracy. Fair Debt Collection Practices Act ( FDCPA ), 15 U.S.C. 1692g PRA has failed to provide competent validation of the alleged debt. Continuing to report or attempt collection without producing proof of liability is a direct violation of federal law. Consumer Harm This account has been disputed multiple times. PRA has not supplied proper documentation or proof of ownership/assignment of the alleged debt, yet it continues to damage my creditworthiness and financial stability. Written Confirmation I request written proof that the account has been deleted and will not be reinserted without full compliance with consumer protection laws. Compliance Assurance PRA must certify adherence to all provisions of the FCRA and FDCPA to prevent future violations. I am asking the CFPB to investigate this matter and take all necessary actions to ensure my consumer rights are protected, and the inaccurate reporting is permanently deleted.
