Consumer Narrative
I requested a full amortization schedule and itemized loan breakdown ( principal vs. interest ) per Truth in Lending Act ( TILA ) requirements multiple times through several phone calls to USAA. They failed to provide this and instead referred me to a third-party website ( calculator.net ), which is not legally compliant or sufficient. I can not determine how my {$190000.00} fixed-rate boat loan at 17.59 % interest is being applied. Despite paying over {$10000.00} toward the principal, my balance has barely moved. During a recorded call, a USAA representative stated that XXXX different interest rates were reflected in the loan agreement and disclosure. Additionally, they confirmed that the {$10000.00} principal payment did not reduce the loans XXXX repayment term at all I am still locked into a XXXX payoff schedule, which seems mathematically and ethically questionable. These inconsistencies, along with USAAs refusal to provide a federally required amortization schedule, leave me unable to verify how my payments are being allocated. I believe Ive been taken advantage of through deceptive or predatory lending practices. At the time of origination, I was recovering from major XXXX XXXX ( ACDF ) and on strong prescription pain medications, which significantly impaired my cognitive function. I now believe I was not in a condition to give informed consent to a loan with such extreme terms. Had I been well, I never would have agreed to this. All my best, XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX
