Upon return from a trip to XXXX, I detected two fraudulent charges on my Citi/XXXX Platinum Select World Elite Mastercard. Upon detecting these charges, I immediately telephoned Citi MasterCard ( XXXX ) to dispute the charges and have a new credit card issued to me. The charges were made on XX/XX/XXXX at XXXX XXXX at a location identified on my statement as " Services - XXXX XXXX XXXX ''. The first charge was for exactly XXXX XXXX XXXXXXXX XXXX XXXX or {$6.00} XXXX dollars. The second charge was for exactly XXXX XXXX XXXXXXXX XXXX XXXX or {$1300.00} XXXX dollars. I suspect that either my card, unbeknownst to me, was skimmed, scanned, or cloned. Shortly after disputing these charges, on XX/XX/XXXX, I received a letter from Citi Security Services saying that Citi had completed its investigation of the disputed charges and had determined that I was responsible for the charges. I immediately contacted Citi ( XXXX ) sending an email on XX/XX/XXXX asking that the fraud case be re-opened. In the email, I asked for the address of the vendor where the charge was made and a copy of the signed receipt for the charge. Later, I received a letter backdated XX/XX/XXXX from Citi saying that it had re-opened the case, however since receiving this letter, I have received no further communication from Citi. I sent XXXX subsequent emails on XX/XX/XXXX and XX/XX/XXXX requesting action on my fraud claim and requesting the same information from Citi that I requested in my first email. I have received no responses from Citi. In all of my emails, I provided information showing that I was in an XXXX traveling from the XXXX area of XXXX de XXXX to the XXXX area of XXXX de XXXX when the fraudulent charges occurred. The ride lasted XXXX hour and XXXX minutes from XXXX XXXX to XXXX XXXX. This overlapped the time ( i.e. XXXX XXXX ) at which the fraudulent charges occurred. I provided a copy of my XXXX receipt and a copy of my XXXX XXXX Credit Card statement showing that I paid for this ride. This fraud dispute has been very frustrating for me. In my opinion, it has all the hallmarks of credit card fraud, where the fraudster first makes a small charge to see if the card will work, then upon seeing that it works, the fraudster makes a second larger charge. I am shocked that Citi can not even provide me the address of the vendor where the charge was made. Furthermore, in XXXX, all foreigners are required to sign a receipt when they use a credit card. ( Local Brazilians only have to input a pin number ). If Citi could provide me this receipt, it would surely not be my signature. Finally, for the record, I am a XXXX XXXX XXXX retiree whom has no history of disputing credit card charges.
