I am submitting this complaint against Chase Auto Finance, my auto loan provider, regarding their ongoing failure to process a title transfer, which has now resulted in serious consequences for me as a consumer. I have been attempting to transfer my vehicle title from Michigan to Indiana for over a month and a half, and the process has been delayed due entirely to Chases failure to initiate the request in a timely and accurate manner. While I was repeatedly told by Chase that the title request had been submitted and that there was nothing more they could do, I was later informed by a Chase supervisor that the title request had not even been submitted in the first place. It had to be reopened and processed well after my initial attempts to resolve the issue. This contradicts the information I was previously given and proves that the delay was due to Chases internal error. Because of this negligence : I have paid my license renewal fees twice just to stay compliant. I have exhausted all temporary registration extensions with the Indiana XXXX. I am now at risk of being unable to legally drive my vehicle. And most recently, I received a warning from my apartment management that vehicles not registered in the state will be towed. This means I am now at risk of losing access to my car entirely despite making all required loan payments and doing everything I can on my part. This has caused financial strain, stress, loss of time, and potential property risk all due to Chase Auto Finances lack of follow-through, transparency, and accountability. I am respectfully asking the CFPB to investigate Chases mishandling of this title transfer process, and to consider requiring : An explanation and formal acknowledgment of the delay, and A goodwill credit or compensation due to the hardship their error has caused. I am available to provide additional documentation, call logs, or correspondence as needed. Thank you for your assistance and attention to this matter.
