Consumer Narrative
After being a customer more then 49 years and having a credit limit of {$69000.00} I feel the bank was looking for a reason to drop me as a customer. All of which would have been fine had they not tried to ruin my credit to do so. I started using another credit card about 5 years ago when Bank of America was not willing to match their offer. I slowly began to use a their card less and less. Instead of offering me a similar deal I feel they just wanted end our relationship. So to accomplish that task, they without my knowledge, put me on email statement delivery. Something I would never knowing agree to. They then wanted until I used it their card and waited 60 days to notify me in writing of a {$60.00} charge. I looked through my records and agreed I owed and promptly paid. Payment was made within 4 days written notification, 2 of which were the weekend. Payment would have been made on time had I known. My main Question to them was why they didn't contact me sooner, other than e-mail, which was clearly not working. Knowing how well I had paid my bills in the past why would you want to drop me as a customer after and go after my credit rating? Not fair.
