I mailed a payment to pay off my credit card in XX/XX/XXXX. After 5 weeks, Synchrony had not cashed the check and I made a payment over the phone so as not to have a late fee. This resulted in a negative balance on my account when they finally cashed my check. The balance showed as - {$180.00} with no payment owed. On XX/XX/XXXX, I made a purchase of {$21.00}, and on XX/XX/XXXX I received a bill for {$21.00}, the - {$180.00} having been wiped off my account. I sent a letter on XX/XX/XXXX requesting that Synchrony investigate where the {$180.00} overpayment went. In response, Synchrony sent a letter stating I now owe {$140.00} and refused to address the initial letter. The following week, Synchrony sent a letter that they were lowering my available credit to {$160.00}, and still refused to address the missing {$180.00}. Synchrony continues to send threatening letters and report negatively to my credit report rather than fix the issue.
