XXXX filing this complaint because Bank of America charged off my XXXX card with a balance that went over my credit limit due to automatic recurring charges. My credit limit was {$2500.00}, but the balance climbed to over {$3900.00} because they allowed charges to keep going through without stopping or notifying me. That alone created a situation where I couldnt even catch up, and the account was eventually closed and charged off. I believe they XXXX have sent a letter about collections, but by that point, I was overwhelmed and unable to pay because of the inflated balance which wasnt fully caused by my spending but by their failure to decline charges after the card was maxed. I take full responsibility for my part, but this was not handled fairly. They let it spiral and then destroyed my credit. Now, this charge-off is ruining my life. XXXX trying to pursue a law enforcement career, and XXXX involved in running a family business that XXXX soon be transferred to my name. This mark on my XXXX is putting all of that in jeopardy. I called Bank of America, offered to pay the full balance, and asked if they would agree to remove the charge-off from my credit report. They refused even though XXXX trying to do the right thing and resolve it. XXXX not trying to dodge anything. I just want to pay, clear this up, and get my life back on track. XXXX asking the CFPB to step in and help me : XXXX. Get Bank of America to agree to delete the tradeline once I pay in full, or XXXX. Remove or suppress this tradeline due to the way it was handled allowing the card to go far over limit and not giving me a fair shot to bring it current. XXXX doing everything I can to fix my past and move forward. All XXXX asking for is a fair XXXX chance. Please help.
