My name is XXXX XXXX, I am filing this complaint because my right under the Fair Credit Billing Act was seriously violated by Citi Cards. I have been their customer for over 14 years. Never missed a payment, usually pay in full. There have been years when I charged over {$100000.00} annually. These recent years my spending habit has decreased by a lot but I still charge a lot more than an average person. XX/XX/2021 I purchased a XXXX XXXX from a private seller through XXXX for {$1700.00}. The bag was advertised as like new with authenticity card. A week later I received a package with just the bag -- no authenticity card. After months of communicating with the seller who promised she mailed it to me separately however I never received anything in the mail from her, I was forced to open a credit cart dispute of {$500.00} because of the lack of authenticity card would bring value of the handbag down. Had I known it did not come with an authenticity card, I would not have purchased it. Let me explain a bit about authenticity card so that you understand how important it is. XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX only issues authenticity card once during the process of tailoring the handbag. If one lost it, there would be no replacement. A lot of time, when a customer needs repair done to their XXXX XXXX, they have to bring the authenticity card with them. Under my untrained eyes, the bag looked good -- the only issue was the lack of authenticity card. I would never want to be a difficult customer therefore I decided to keep the bag but requested a {$500.00} refund for the missing authenticity card due to the reasons stated above. However, Citicards had violated my right under the Fair Credit Billing Act by deciding the dispute in seller 's favor because I could not provide statement of inauthenticity. I purchased a handbag with an authenticity card, what I received did not come with it but my right was not honored by Citicards. I further explained to them without the authenticity card, nobody would be willing to issue such statement. They would not listen and closed the case allowing the scammer to keep my money while their customer is stuck with a not as described purchase. Fast forward, just recently the bag fell apart and I brought it to XXXX for repair, they considered it being counterfeit and refused to work on it. Had Citicards not decide in the seller 's favor, I would have not spent {$1700.00} on a fake XXXX XXXX that is worth nothing. I requested for the authenticity card from the seller with Citicards assistance but instead of helping me, they deemed that it was ok for the seller to not send me the authenticity card which led to me ending up with a fake bag.
