Today XX/XX/XXXX i attempted to contact US Bank to get information on settling and closing my account. Bank played hard ball with me and said no settlement offer. Banks can settle and do have settlement procedures they just often prefer to force full payment instead. If in good faith im calling to negotiate with the bank and make it right by settling the account, i am making an honest effort to make a payment in the amount that i can and see if the bank can accept my offer. However, the representative said talk to a consoler to help you get back on track. Again, if i am in hardship and can not make further payments there is no catching up. This is it either the bank can accept and settle and still get a payment or i will just take the money i had ready for them and settle with the next bank. And since the bank decided to strong arm me ill strong arm them back with no further payments. Im submitting this compliant in efforts to reach someone reasonable in the company that can give this a second look and help me out. I am still willing to negotiate in good faith something reasonable to resolve this. But if they keep lying to me saying they can't settle then as mentioned the money i have saved for them ill just simply send to another credit card company ill be settling with. Im in hardship. I am not settling with them but all my credit cards. To try and reduce the strain on me. But if banks play hard ball its simple my last resort will be bankruptcy protection and legal proceedings will take place to prove that i don't have the means to keep paying.
