Consumer Narrative
I logged in to my mobile banking app ( Bank of America ) and noticed multiple fraudulent charges on my account. I called them to dispute the charge and file a fraud claim. They said they would credit me the full amount ( ~ {$800.00} ) but only credited me half the amount. The informed me that it would take XXXX business days to review. It took more than that, and I was notified on a Saturday when their fraud department is closed. The reasoning given for the denial of my claim is that the charge occurred through a recognized device, no further information provided. These are charges, mind you, that include foreign transaction fees- hotels and/or resorts in XXXX. I do not have a passport, have never been out of the country, and have never made any foreign purchases on my account. No additional information on the merchants were provided, so I can not call them to remove the charge or find any additional information.
