Complaint Description : PayPal Credit, through Synchrony Bank, closed/reduced my credit line without providing any legally required Adverse Action Notice, in violation of the Fair Credit Reporting Act ( FCRA, 15 U.S.C. 1681m ( a ) ) and the Equal Credit Opportunity Act ( ECOA, 15 U.S.C. 1691 ( d ) ). After I paid off my balance in full and improved my credit standing, my credit limit was immediately reduced from {$1500.00} to {$100.00} without cause, explanation, or prior notification. Additionally my PayPall Credit limit was reduced from {$2000.00} to {$710.00} without cause, explanation, or prior notification. This sudden change appears retaliatory and discriminatory against responsible financial behavior. This constitutes violations of : Fair Credit Reporting Act ( FCRA ) Equal Credit Opportunity Act ( ECOA ) Unfair, Deceptive, or Abusive Acts or Practices ( UDAAP ) under the Consumer Financial Protection Act Failure of Good Faith and Fair Dealing under UCC 1-304 I have requested reinstatement and a full explanation but have not received a satisfactory response. I respectfully request the CFPB investigate this unlawful and unfair treatment and require PayPal Credit to restore my original credit limit and correct any resulting credit reporting impacts. Resolution Requested : Immediate reinstatement of original {$1500.00} credit limit. Immediate reinstatement of my PayPal Credit Account of original {$2000.00} credit limit. Written explanation for adverse action. Confirmation that no negative credit bureau reporting has occurred. Compliance with all applicable consumer protection laws.
