I received a mailed collection notice from Qualia Collection Services in XX/XX/year> for a {$650.00} rental charge from XXXX XXXX XXXX. I called XXXX in early XXXX to inquire about the debt. During the call, the representative specifically stated that he could initiate the dispute process right then and there, while we were still on the phone. He also instructed me to send in supporting documentation by mail to complete the process. I followed his directions and mailed a formal written dispute with supporting documents via certified mail, which was delivered within the same week around XX/XX/year> well within the 30-day dispute period under the Fair Debt Collection Practices Act ( FDCPA ), 15 U.S.C. 1692g. I requested full validation of the debt and all itemized supporting documentation. The company never responded. Despite this, on or around XX/XX/year>, the account was flagged and reported to XXXX. I received an alert showing it was marked as a new collection, and my credit score dropped as a result. However, the account is not visible anywhere on my XXXX credit report, meaning I can not dispute it through standard consumer channels. Additionally, I am an active duty service member and terminated my lease lawfully under the Servicemembers Civil Relief Act ( SCRA ), 50 U.S.C. 3955. This debt should never have been reported.
