I funded an account at US Bank ending in XXXX with an external investment account ending in XXXX on XX/XX/year> for {$1500.00}. This account has been utilized 20 or more times in the past to fund the US Bank account. The bank teller, XXXX XXXX, gave me a Notice of Hold stating the funds would not be available until XX/XX/year>. XXXX had no idea why. I phoned US Bank on XX/XX/year>, spoke to a representative and she told me the same thing, but did not know why. I did not get that representatives name. I spoke to XXXX today at US Bank and she said the hold was due to a {$1400.00} bounced check from investment checking account ending in XXXX that I wrote to US Bank on XX/XX/year>. This is true. As I am a XXXX, I was called to NY XXXX XXXX XXXX to tend to my XXXX XXXX XXXXXXXX Mom. In my hurry to leave on XX/XX/year>, I wrotre the {$1400.00} prior to the funds becoming available at the investment firm. This was my mistake and I will take responsibility. The reason for the complaint is due to the following, as explained by XXXX : The {$1500.00} check in question was presented to US Bank on XX/XX/year> by me. The investment firm released the {$1500.00} to US Bank on XX/XX/year>. If the {$1500.00} was released and US Bank has it, as explained by XXXX, why will the funds not be available until XX/XX/year>? According to XXXX there will not be any interest given on the {$1500.00}. The money will be in the hands of US Bank for 7 days and will for sure be invested. I realize US Bank is punishing me for my mistake, however, it is unfair for US Bank to have the money in hand and not release it.
