Despite my account being open, in good standing, and NEVER lateas clearly reflected in my XXXX credit report ( screenshots attached ) you decreased my credit limit without any prior notice or explanation. This is not only unethical but in direct violation of federal law. You Have Violated the Following Laws : CARD Act Section 101 ( a ) ( 1 ) You are legally required to give at least 45 days written notice before reducing a consumers credit limit. I never received any such notice. CARD Act Section 101 ( a ) ( 3 ) If the decrease was based on credit bureau data, you are required to disclose the specific reason and source. I never authorized any such pull, and no adverse action notice has been provided. CARD Act Section 102 I have the right to opt out of changes under certain terms. No such option was ever presented. Truth in Lending Act ( TILA ) Section 1026.9 ( c ) Creditors are required to notify consumers of significant changes, such as a limit reduction, at least 45 days in advance. This requirement was blatantly ignored.
