Deposited a personal check from an employer an 11 day hold was placed on the check. I called the next day to see if they could remove the hold as I was on the phone they froze my account and said the check was fraudulent and they needed to verify with the check issuer that they wrote it. I gave them the check issuer phone number and they said that they couldnt make contact due to the number not being registered to the check issuer it was registered to his wife instead. After explaining this she called him anyway and verified everything told him everything was good then 5 minutes later took me off hold and told me she was unaware the number was not registered to him. I called again to see what other route I could take to verify or when the check would be returned to the issuer and they told me it wasnt a fraudulent check and the money would not be returned after they closed the account and they would hold the money for 3-5 years or untill the check was verified. The check has been cleared through the issuers bank and they cant stop pay because have already cleared the check on there end also but have left my account frozen
