On my XXXX bill I have XXXX interest charges. XXXX for {$1.00} interest based on an average daily balance of {$110.00} at 20.24 % and a second for {$9.00} interest based on an average daily balance of {$1200.00} at 9.99 %. I believe both of these work out to a 28 day period. I called the Citi credit card customer help line ( XXXX ) on XX/XX/XXXX at approximately XXXX pm requesting the detail mathematical calculation of these XXXX average daily balances that are used to calculate these XXXX interest charges. The initial Citi responder indicated Citi could not provide the detail calculation of these XXXX average daily balances, either by email or mail. I asked for a supervisor. XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX # XXXX of the Arizona area ) also stated that Citi was unable to provide the detail calculation of the XXXX average daily balances used to calculate the XXXX interest charges. So, it is left to the credit card holder to verify the correctness of the calculation. I do not believe that this is correct. Since Citi is charging me the interest, they should be able, upon my request, to substantiate the charge in detail and not just provide an oral definition of how to calculate interest.
