I had a XXXX 's XXXX XXXX credit card through XXXX XXXX. I also had the XXXX XXXX XXXX with that card. This allowed for debt cancelation up to {$10000.00}. I lost my job from XXXX and was unable to pay the debt. I went through the steps to cancel the debt and it was canceled, XX/XX/XXXX. I thought it was done. XXXX years later I get a letter saying I'm being sued for the debt, XX/XX/XXXX. XXXX 's and XXXX XXXX sold the debt, {$4300.00} to Portfolio Recovery Associates LLC without any notification to me. I have not received any debt validation or verification of the bill of sale or assignment contract from Portfolio Associates. I filed an answer with the court denying ownership of the debt and provided the written statement to Portfolio Recovery Associates as well, along with the terms and conditions for the XXXXXXXX XXXX XXXX.
