Consumer Narrative

When I was XXXX years old, there was an accident and XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX After this accident, there was a settlement and the money was put into a XXXX account under my dads name into Chase according to my parents. Around the year XXXX I finally turned XXXX so I went to Chase to retrieve the funds from the XXXX account as my parents were told I would be able to do so. The lady who worked there told us that they werent able to release the funds without us bringing a document that was brought the day the XXXX account was open. After a couple weeks to months, we found a paper that contained the XXXX account number with my name and my fathers name. We went back and showed her the paper and she told us there was a block to the account and it went unresolved. Being frustrated I waited until XXXX where I went back after turning XXXX in order to see if there was any change to releasing the funds. That was where a male who worked at the Chase told us that we needed a court order to access these funds. He also said that he saw a file and that the only way to access it as well was with a court order. After a couple Chase chase branch complaints reached out to me and a lady informed me on how to get the court order. However, when I went to the court to try and get this court order, they told me I needed a case number. After several months of looking into the system and multiple court houses, there was no case number or record of any case at all. I tried reaching out to the same lady and havent had any luck as her mailbox is full. I then decided to make a new call to Chase complaints where an individual told me I have to go in person. That brings me to today where I went in person and met with a lady where she told me she was unable to provide a file as the file wasnt there anymore due to her reason being after seven years files are thrown around and she was also unable to provide me a case number to help me get this court order that the bank is asking for. The manager of the branch then informed me to get legal action as that was the only other way to release these funds. After speaking to a few legal professionals after telling them that the XXXX account only holds around {$6000.00}. They said that was too little for them to help me as they charge quite a large amount to help with this issue and then I should keep looking around. Its just been a whole bunch of back-and-forth and there is no way to release these funds. There is always something in the way. So I am hoping to get some help elsewhere or to see what my other options are as it is now going to be four years without any progress.
