Chase bank closed my account ( XXXX ) and has been holding roughly {$6000.00} of mine for 5 months now. They say they can not verify the checks deposited. The maker of the checks has even called them and verified the checks but they are still holding the money. Every time I call them I get a different reason and a different answer. It was a duplicate check situation. They said don't worry one will bounce. Both of the checks cleared and now I am out {$3000.00} in my employer who wrote the checks are also owed {$3000.00}. They're holding our money indefinitely because they can not find registered phone number for my employer. My employer is a family business that has a nonprofit they also run attached to the main business. They have one payroll person for both businesses and one phone number. Chase says since the nonprofit portion of the business doesn't have its own phone number they will not give us the money. This is ridiculous and its been 5 months now.
