Chase has an " Offers '' program, where they partner with merchants to give additional rewards to customers who shop at these merchants after opting-in through a portal. At the end of last year, Chase ran a promotional offer with XXXX XXXX XXXX ), where my offer was : Spend {$400.00} or more at XXXX on or before XX/XX/XXXX and receive a {$200.00} statement credit. From what I understand, all Chase Sapphire credit card customers were eligible for this offer ( with XXXX and XXXX customers having varying " spend and get '' amounts ). I made my purchase on the morning ( eastern time ) of XX/XX/XXXX - my final cart total was {$440.00}. I waited XXXX weeks and saw no indication of a credit being posted - I called Chase XXXX XX/XX/XXXX to inquire. A customer service rep told me that they were being flooded with complaints about this specific Backcountry offer and told me resolutions would occur in XXXX. Based on the details of my transaction, he also assured me I'd be eligible for the credit. I was given an escalation ticket number that I could reference in the future ( ticket number : XXXX ). I didn't received any electronic form of communication regarding the matter, and called again on XX/XX/XXXX. It took multiple calls to be able to speak with a representative. I was told my claim was denied, but given no reasoning behind it. I was told that only a physical letter was sent as a response. The documents I've attached are my email confirmation from XXXX on when I made the purchase, as well as a screenshot of the deal terms from the Chase Offers program. Credit card companies are all in a race to scale " bank marketing '' offers as an alternative form of revenue to interchange, interest, and fees. As banks scale these affiliate marketing offers to their credit card customers, it's imperative that they be held to strict standards of ensuring that the promised rewards are delivered to the end customer.
