I'm writing to the CFPB hoping I can get more information from Bank of America. I currently have a checking, savings, and brokerage account with Bank of America. I love the app, the ecosystem and the customer service. The only thing I'm missing from them is a credit card so I can have everything together in one bank. The last credit card I had with them was closed in XXXX, XXXX. I remember I called Bank of America and requested for the account to be closed since I wasn't planning on using it. It was a Premium Rewards Card. Fast forward to XX/XX/XXXX and I applied for a Bank of America Customized Cash Rewards. The application was denied, and the denial letter showed the reason as : " An account with us and/or our affiliates has been revoked ''. When I got that letter with that reason I got scared, since I've never ever had any accounts revoked. Any and every account that is closed on my credit reports has been closed at my request. My credit report shows XXXX delinquencies, collections or problems ; and 100 % payment rate. I contacted all credit bureaus by phone, and reviewed with them on the phone each and every account on my credit report for the last 20 years. Not a single one of them showed anything other than closed at consumer request. No negative marks. Nothing negative. With this information I called Bank of America. A very nice gentlemen understood my concern and went through all my credit history, as well as internal bank information. He couldn't find anything negative on my credit report or internal " file '', so he asked me to hold while he spoke with a " credit coach ''. After the " credit coach '' reviewed all my information, I was told Bank of America shows in their system that the Premium Rewards card I called to cancel in XXXX XXXX XXXX shows as if they ( the bank ) closed it due to inactivity. And because of this, the system interprets it as if the account was revoked. I'd love for Bank of America to fix their internal file of me and/or systems so that I can apply for the same card. I'm very worried that somebody or a system made a mistake internally by miss-cataloguing the account I closed as an account the bank decided to close. I hope you can help me and can see I have other accounts with Bank of America and continue to deposit money frequently. Reference Number : XXXX
