Purchased items on XXXX that I need on XX/XX/2024 and got a message from XXXX XXXX that my debit card was declined because I exceeded a " transaction limit ''. I called Direct Express and spoke to both a customer service person and on XX/XX/2024 to a supervisor. Both could not tell me what my " transaction limit '' was and what I could do to free up my card. The supervisor told me the transaction limit was a " feature '' of my card and I could not request it be removed. He also told me there was nothing I could do or how long the " transaction limit '' hold would apply and when I could expect to use my card again at stores. Both Direct Express customer service person and supervisor suggested I use " an alternative form of payment '' or go to an ATM and withdraw cash as needed. I told them my social security was my only income and the Direct Express card was my only " form of payment ''.
