I opened my account with Bank of America on XXXX XXXX. I was advised to wait until Social Security cleared to close my account. I closed my account on XX/XX/XXXX after receiving my Social Security on XX/XX/XXXX. I then received an email on XX/XX/XXXX letting me know that the account was closed and I would no longer be able to use it for billpay purposes, but there was no balance at the time. Im now being told by the company that I have an outstanding balance owed to them within one or two weeks of closing the account and that, in fact, is not the case there should be no balance.
