I refinanced my mortgage with XXXX in XXXX. Shortly after the loan closed they transferred the ownership of the loan to XXXX XXXX who then took over managing the loan. In XXXX of XXXX we paid the loan off. After waiting several months for the lien release I began contacting XXXX XXXX as we hadn't received anything. XXXX XXXX finally responded after a complaint was filed on this site and come to find out, they are unable to release the lien as it was never transferred to XXXX XXXX so XXXX still shows as the lien holder on the deed. The county clerks office advised that the letter showing the mortgage was transferred to XXXX XXXX would not satisfy the requirements and documents would need to be provided by XXXX showing that the lien can be released. Obviously both XXXX an XXXX XXXX are done with you once your mortgage has been paid off and getting in touch with anyone from either company has been a major hassle. I finally was able to get in touch with a lady named XXXX from XXXX ( ph number called from was XXXX ) back in XXXX and was told they were researching it. It is now XXXX and has been over a year since the mortgage was paid in full and we still have a lien. This process has caused great stress, lots of time on the phone, and still have no resolve.
