My student loan was sold to Mohela, as of XX/XX/year>2024 I had a remaining XXXX days of forbearance on the loan remaining and the loans were in forbearance. I requested a forbearance again prior to XX/XX/year>2024, mohela did not respond and my account does not show that a request was submitted. My loans then went into repayment in XXXX despite my request and I began to receive emails from mohela, saying I had to pay or my loans would be past due and be in default. At the same time mohelas automated phone system says that I should be ignoring emailed bills and payment requests if I've requested a forbearance. I've now had to pay 3 months so that my credit score is not impacted and loans do not default. Still no response from Mohela, and my loans are in repayment without my consent when they should be in forbearance. I've now submitted a 2nd request and will be submitting a 3rd. Mohela is taking advantage of the situation and making it impossible to get a forbearance put into place on my account. They are also refusing to correspond regarding it by not acknowledging my request, or communicating regarding it and I'm not the only person to whom this is happening. A quick XXXX search shows that mohela is doing the same thing to others. They are abusing their debtors and taking advantage of them as a student loan servicer.
