Credit card company sent a letter in with my XX/XX/year> statement that stated my credit score was a XXXX. But because they were offering other consumers with the same score, the same card and benefits, at a higher interest rate my interest rate has to go from 15.99 % to 23.74 %. They also referenced my credit report and stated that I had accounts with delinquencies, which is not true. I work hard to keep my credit score high so that I can have lower interest rates. They stated that my proportion of loan balances to loan amounts is too high. I owe approximately {$700.00} to credit card companies and have {$40.00} in credit. When I talked with the company, I was told that there was nothing they could do and that interest rates were going up for everyone. Didn't the Federal Reserve just lower Interest rates? I do not understand how this credit card company can get away with doubling interest rates for consumers who have excellent credit and pay their bills on time.
