Consumer Narrative
On XX/XX/XXXX, I stopped at a cash station in XXXX. All gas pumps are full-service in that of XXXX. The service attendant pumped my gas. I handed him my credit card and then I drove off. I got a notification on my phone for 2 charges, one for {$88.00} and 1 minute later, a charge for {$600.00}. I immediately reported the transaction as fraudulent to Apple Card & Goldman Sachs through the Apple Wallet App. A couple months later, the charge reappeared on my card. The email from Goldman Sachs said : " '' '' Goldman Sachs Bank USA has re-investigated your transaction dispute and found that no billing error occurred for the following reason : We further investigated the dispute and reviewed any additional information that may have been provided. Based on our review, the original decision will remain because there is no evidence to substantiate the claim " '' '' The transaction for {$600.00} happened at XXXX by a payment merchant " XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX ''. This merchant is reported on internet as being involved in credit card scams. XXXX XXXX XXXXXXXX There is no way that I bought {$600.00} worth of " food & drink '' at XXXX and then one minute later paid for {$88.00} of gasoline ( which would take 3-5 minutes to pump ). It's simply impossible. What is possible is that the gas attendant had a second payment terminal and he quickly charged my card {$600.00} on one terminal and then charged my gas fee to another terminal without me seeing. A quick glance at the timeline, the merchant names makes this fairly clear. However, Goldman refuses to acknowledge this. Instead they cite no evidence as their evidence. Since then, I have called and spent hours on the phone disputing the charge with Apple and Goldman Sachs. Their customer service department is useless, they can not access the case or provide any details, when I ask to speak to the fraud department or the case investigator, they say I can not. They say they can not provide any information as to why the dispute was reverted. Timeline : XX/XX/year> : Initial fraudulent charge XX/XX/year> : Goldman reverts the dispute. I submit the claim again. XX/XX/year> : Goldman reverts the dispute. I submit the claim again. XX/XX/year> : Goldman reverts the dispute. I submit the claim again. XX/XX/year> : Goldman reverts the dispute. I submit the claim again. The first time, they asked for no evidence, they said they'd fix it. They issued me a new physical card as well. Every time since, they've said they should have asked for evidence the first time but because they didnt, now they say they need evidence. I've had multiple credits cards for the past 20 years, NEVER, have I ever had any issues like this. The handful of times I've seen fraudulent charges on my card, I've reported them and the card issuer fixed it. My experience with Apple Card + Goldman Sachs has been shocking. I saw this lawsuit was charged against them, clearly I'm not the only one facing this mess XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX, CFPB XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX
