Consumer Narrative

I applied for consolidation in XX/XX/scrub> 2024. However, I had already decided against doing it by the time I was approved. I declined by phone with the FSA well within the time frame I was given to do so ( 10 business days ). Several weeks later I received emails from XXXX, my loan servicer, that my loans had been consolidated by Mohela despite my declination of the consolidation. I called the FSA, which confirmed that they had my refusal on file, and sometime thereafter I saw that my loans were once again showing on the XXXX account. I thought the matter was at an end until I received a bill from Mohela in XXXX. I called Mohela and was told that they claim to still own XXXX of my loans. I asked why all my other loans had reverted and these XXXX were not and they would tell me was that they were 'different ' in some way they refused to elaborate on. In the months I have been trying to figure out how they could possibly retain ownership of XXXX of my loans when they were never supposed to own any of them at all not one person at either the FSA, XXXX, or Mohela mentioned that the XXXX loans Mohela is claiming are the actual consolidation loans that should have never existed. Also, the fact that my actual loans were returned to XXXX should have negated the existence of any consolidation loans even if they were legitimate. Between these three entities I had to be the one to figure out what appears to be either a clerical error or an issue between XXXX and Mohela regarding the transfer of funds regarding my loans. I have informed the FSA of my discovery. Now my student debt is reading on the FSA website as double what it actually is ; from ~ {$41000.00} to ~ {$82000.00}. These consolidation loans are fraudulent and were created against my express wishes. I applied for consolidation in good faith in the understanding that I could refuse even if approved. I did my due diligence and declined well within my time frame to do so.
