Companies involed : XXXX -Chase Bank XXXX XX/XX/XXXX, I wasn't able to make a payment to my Chase credit card. On XX/XX/XXXX, I received a call from a Chase representative who worked in the collections department. I answered the call and the representative asked for my routing and account number. The representative also asked me when I would like to schedule the payment. I scheduled the payment for XX/XX/XXXX. For XXXX and a half years, I have been using the same routing and account number to pay my Chase credit card. I use the Chase mobile application to schedule payments and never had an issue. This was my first time allowing a representative to help me schedule a payment. I don't recall if the representative repeated my account and routing number back to me when I gave it to her. The collections department processed the transaction for me instead of the usual billing department. On XX/XX/XXXX, Chase informed me that my XXXX bank returned the payment. Chase stated that I couldn't use my XXXX bank anymore to make a payment since it was blocked. I had to transfer the amount in my XXXX bank account to a different bank account in order to pay Chase. I also had to set up bill pay which took a few more days. Chase then reported a XXXX day late delinquent account to the credit bureau. On XX/XX/XXXX, a supervisor from Chase informed me that XXXX returned the payment because the account was invalid. I spoke with a representative from the collections department at Chase and a representative stated that the account number was entered incorrectly in their system. I spoke with a different supervisor at Chase and that supervisor stated that the information was in fact entered correctly. I spoke with a representative from XXXX ( in the screenshots ) and the representative stated that the payment was scheduled to be debited in the name " my credit card number '' instead of the name on file " XXXX XXXX. '' Both XXXX and Chase keep pointing the blame at each other.
